For the MAD Houston restaurant, Grupo Malasa collaborated in the development of the original design by the internationally renowned designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán.
It is a restaurant concept that brings to the United States the deeply Spanish experience of tapas and our gastronomy, in a perfect blend between the spirit of the city of Madrid and Barcelona through colors, metallic accents and textures.

Custom
furniture
The Spanish designer Rosa-Violán imported from Spain all the furniture, custom-made in our factories, as well as the decorative elements of the walls and lamps.
He also used vibrant colors such as blues, which evoke the Mediterranean, terracotta reds as a nod to the buildings of Madrid and orange tones, both in lights, tiles and upholstery.

The heart of the restaurant is the bar, with a Mediterranean island spirit. As a counterpoint, the VIP rooms are set in the Madrid nightlife of the 80’s, bathed in neon lights and as a tribute to Barcelona, they applied tiles and mosaics inspired by Gaudí’s Sagrada Familia.
