Calle San Juan building

Although at first glance they once looked like a single building, the dilapidated buildings at numbers 15, 17, and 19 of the well-known Calle San Juan in A Coruña were, in fact, 3 independent constructions. They have now been converted into a beautiful new construction that modernizes the original style and revitalizes the area.

Historical

building

The three original buildings were from the last decade of the 19th century and have been functionally united, each on a tiny plot, respecting the original structure of each of the three and converting them into a single building. Two storeys have been added (the third floor and the attic), making eight homes (two per floor) with a commercial first floor.

When the building is seen from the outside, they still look like independent buildings, although inside they communicate perfectly as if they were one.

As this is a building protected by its original historical heritage, the main objective has been to preserve its original structure.

Quality

materials

Our construction company NOA·AD has been in charge of the entire rehabilitation process; where the previous structural scheme of beams supported on load-bearing walls was maintained, we replaced the wooden slabs with new ones made of sheet metal.

The stone facade has also been preserved, manufacturing replicas of the original windows and matching the colors of the facade.

With the best quality materials, at Grupo Malasa we have been in charge of the bespoke kitchens, cabinets and furniture of these 8 houses.
