Complete renovation of an apartment in a historic building in the Atocha neighborhood in Madrid. On this occasion, in collaboration with the architectural firm Sinaldaba, we refurbished this apartment based on an indisputable premise: to bring modernity and minimalism without losing any of its personality and historical character, which is still very present in the doors and windows with moldings and walls of recovered weathered brick.
The open-plan layout and compact kitchen design with a large central island provide a contemporary and clean, yet practical and functional feel.
High-quality appliances, an infallible smoke and odor extraction system, and air conditioning with exposed ducts for that industrial and youthful touch –
a trend-inspiring result! The warm colors of solid chestnut wood in a natural and matte finish, chrome-plated metals in faucets and showers, and the off-white of the walls, with touches of stone and graphite make up the chromatic palette of the space.

The natural light and high ceilings of this apartment located in a historic building in the center of Madrid made us fall in love from the moment we saw it, the great challenge was to make the most of the small space to achieve a comfortable home with everything necessary for its future inhabitants.
Embracing the original features of a space and integrating them tastefully within the renovation project is the key to not losing the identity and maintaining that personality of things with history as we did by preserving the original brick details in the load-bearing walls.
